The museums fund activity
The archive of the home-museum of L. and M. Rostropovich is subjectively divided as follows:
- Life and creative development of L. Rostropovich
- The activity of L. Rostropovich in the period of his living in Baku (19141916, 19251931)
- Life and creative development of M. L. Rostropovich
- Creative and public activity of M. L. Rostropovich from the moment of his first concerts up to now
- History of cello art, cello school in Azerbaijan and its popularization
There are more than 2000 diverse materials in the fixed capital of the museum. The fixed capital, in its turn, is subdivided into the following divisions (according to the nature of material):
- fund for orders and medals
- fund for material monuments
- fund for audio-video records
- fund for depictive monuments
- fund for memorable-memorial objects
- fund for written monuments
- fund for posters
- fund for photographs and negatives
It is necessary to lay special emphasis on the fact that there are personal archives of many Azerbaijan cellists in the funds of the museum, and among them should be noted the archives of the student of L. Rostropovich Asaf Zeynally, the well-known Azerbaijan cellists S. Aliyev, Y. Abdullayev, V. Anshelevich, V. Neyman, E. Iskenderov. Besides there is a rich material on the history of cello art in the museum, its most outstanding and well-known performers, note books of the end of XIX beginning of XX century with the works for cello, and also photographs.
