IV hall
The fourth hall narrates about the tradition of the
yearly visits to Baku. There is the poster dedicated to the
70-th anniversary of the musician, programs of the
concerts performed by M. Rostropovich since 1997, picturesque
portrait of the maestro made by T. Salakhov, graphic works
of I. Mamedov, bronze bas relief of a sculptor I. Zeynalov.
In the hall there are the concert tail coat and stick of M.
Rostropovich and some other exhibits. In the fourth hall there
are also the photographs of M. Rostropovich during the visit
of a refugee camp in the zone of the Karabakh
conflict, photographs from the ceremony of the rewarding of the
musician with “Shokhrat” (“Glory”) order by the
President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in 1998, and photographs
made during the master-classes for students of the Music Academy.
During the arrival of M. Rostropovich in Baku in 1997,
in the honor of the outstanding musician and his father
the home — museum of Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich
was established, the street, on which the museum is located,
was renamed, and the Music School № 2 now bears
their names. |
